After school today, Ms. Johnson spent some time hanging in the pen with Winter to work on helping her get more comfortable. Winter came right up and sniffed and gave lots of little bunny nose bumps. She even played a little, and ate some banana from Ms. Johnson's hand. Hopefully tomorrow some of the kids will get a chance to sit in the pen, read to her, and work on making friends.
About Us
Welcome to our Critter Camp blog.
Windsor Elementary 4th Grade and the Animal Rescue League of Iowa are partnering to create "Critter Camp". The 4th grade classrooms will be caring for small animals from the ARL that are in need of foster care until they are ready for adoption. This blog will share about our foster critters' progress and their search for their forever home.

If you are feeding her lettuce, make sure it is not iceberg lettuce, which has little nutritional value and too much water content. Give her access to timothy hay at all times. Keep her water bowl clean. Carrots should be an occasional treat, and not a regular food source.

ReplyDeleteThanks Sharese, for following us!
ReplyDeleteThank you, West Pointer, for the advice. We are very lucky to have support from the awesome ARL staff, too. They are teaching us all about how to be good foster parents.
